For decades, I worked with my hands as a union refractory bricklayer and welder, a physically demanding trade that took me across the country. But in March 2021, a job in a confined space changed everything. A faulty respirator destroyed my lungs, and multiple doctors told me I would never work again.
For a year, I was lost, waiting for my health to decline. But a simple request from a friend—to make him a knife—rekindled my purpose. To my surprise, the first few attempts yielded something I was proud of. Word quickly spread, and soon I had more orders than I could have imagined.
Now, my workshop is a place of renewal, where I spend my days creating custom knives. This craft has not only become a new career but has given me a new sense of purpose. What started as a small project has grown into a business, and I'm excited to expand my reach by moving into online sales.
I am a husband to my beautiful wife, a father to six adult children, and a proud grandfather. I’ve lived a life of hard work and dedication, and I’m ready for the next chapter.
